WORCESTER WOODS COUNTRY PARK
Worcester Woods is a popular place to bring the children to play and picnic. It boasts a hundred acres of ancient oak woodland. Take a stroll and spot the wild woodland flowers, listen out for the birds or wander through the colourful meadows filled with buttercups and butterflies. Fly a kite, kick a ball or walk the dog.
If you want to venture further afield, there are two waymarked walks for you to explore the woods and the meadows. Both are fairly flat, with benches to take a rest and no stiles. The woodland walk has a firm surface and even after rain is accessible for most wheelchair users.
There is a regular bus service from the city centre to get to Worcester Woods Country Park. Good facilities once you are here ensure an enjoyable visit. With BBQ hire, a fun orienteering course, regular special events and walks, dog training classes, children's play area and the Orchard Cafe. Enjoy a great day out.

PRIORY PARK - GREAT MALVERN
Priory park is a large Victorian park situated very near to Great Malvern town centre. Originally part of the Priory churchyard, the fish pond, with huge golden carp, is the same pool used by the Benedictines more than 400 years ago.

Priory park adjoins the Malvern Theatre Complex and Malvern Freedom Leisure Complex, which has a 25m Leisure Pool including wave machine, flume and beach area. A Fitness and Health Suite, Cafe, Sauna and Steam Room - Telephone 01684 893423.
Priory park is also home home to some exotic trees including Tulip and Dove trees. It features an enclosed children's play area, water fowl lake, members bowling green and sweeping lawns ideal for picnics. There is also an ornate Victorian band stand and throughout the summer a programme of free Sunday afternoon band concerts are held for locals and visitors to enjoy.

WASELEY HILLS COUNTRY PARK
Wasely Hills Country Park has 150 acres of grassy hills with some woodland areas, rising up to 1000 feet with magnificent panoramic views. North east is Birmingham city centre and to the west lies the rolling farmland of north Worcestershire, stretching across to the River Severn. The Malvern and Cotswold Hills can both be seen in the distance from the toposcope on the summit of Windmill Hill.
The superb views make this a perfect spot for walking or strolling and stopping off for a picnic. With two waymarked trails you can explore the hills with confidence, discovering more about the wildlife and landscape features around you with the help of the trail leaflets.
Waseley Hills also has a popular orienteering course, a fun word and map game for all the family. Along with an adventure playground, picnic area and toilets.
There is also a cafe and Information Centre which are housed in an ancient timber framed threshing barn, originally from Lower Smite Farm in Hindlip.

GHELUVELT PARK - WORCESTER
Gheluvelt Park was built as a war memorial to remember the soldiers who died in the First World War in the Battle of Gheluvelt, which took place on the 31st October 1914 outside the city of Ypres in Belgium.
The park has many mature trees providing a shady area on a sunny day, ideal for a picnic on the extensive lawns. A children’s paddling pool and play area are situated in the park.
Barbourne brook runs through the park to a large pond with a bandstand on an island in the centre. The brook continues through the park into an informal area once home to a water treatment plant. It is now a conservation area with meadow areas and a pond dipping platform, adjacent to the River Severn.
The park is located in the Barbourne area of Worcester along the A449 Barbourne Road.
MORTON STANLEY PARK - REDDITCH
Morton Stanley Park is a park of nearly 40 hectares, with wonderful views across the landscape of the distant Malvern Hills. The park boasts a unique variety of habitat including meadows, woodlands and historic hedgerows.
The park hosts an annual fun day every August, thousands of visitors from the local and neighbouring regions descend on the park for a fun filled free day.
There is a nice area for younger children to play and equipment for older children. There is also a skate park and plenty of space for football and ball games. With good paths for walks and an area where dogs have to be kept on leads.
SANDERS PARK - BROMSGROVE
Sanders Park in Bromsgrove, offers delightful open lawned spaces where you can sit and enjoy a picnic and the children can play. There is a superb bowling green, tennis courts, putting green, play area and skate park. Relax and enjoy a free Sunday afternoon concert at the bandstand, with a full summer programme of music, arts and activities.
LIDO PARK - DROITWICH
Lido Park can be found near the old part of the town with the main entrance and car park off the Worcester Road approximately 100m from the end of the High Street.
With good facilities including the Lido outdoor swimming pool (seasonal), wet play, water play fountains.
The park has mature trees, shrubs and colourful flower displays. There is a 5 a side court with basket ball nets, hard tennis court and bowling green(members only). Herroits pool for fishing and Bishops pool to feed the ducks. A childrens play area and bandstand. Ideal for a picnic on a Sunday afternoon, relax and listen to a free concert.

ABBEY PARK - EVESHAM
Central to the town and originally the grounds to Evesham Abbey. In a wonderful setting with a natural terrace and excellent views from the higher levels over the adjacent river Avon. Boat trips run from the Park Quay in the summer.
The park has many mature trees, shrubs, flowers, ornamental herbaceous borders and open grass areas. Beautiful grassy banks, shady trees and flower beds ablaze with colour sweep down to the river. The children’s play area and water play fountains are very popular on a summers day. There is also a skate park, lily pool, picnic benches and plentiful seating for your picnic. The park also displays a variety of unique artwork, including Penny Whistle wood carving, bandstand and historic features.
Abbey Park hosts a variety of events through the year including a hot air balloon festival in June, children’s summer holiday activities, river festival in July, and fishing festival in August
Enjoy a riverside walk, the historic Abbey or listen to one of the free Sunday afternoon concerts in the park.
ABBEY PARK -PERSHORE
Abbey Park in Pershore was originally the Abbey Grounds. The park is very close to the main part of the town and provides an excellent setting for the historic but still vibrant Abbey.
Abbey Park is home to mature trees, shrubs and colourful flower beds. Open grass areas, picnic benches and seating provide the perfect spot for your lunch. There is also a private bowling club, damp meadow area, children's play area, skatepark, football pitch and the popular Water Play Fountains.
RIVER SEVERN AND MEADOWS - STOURPORT
The River Severn and Meadows in Stourport is a beautiful spot by the river, ideal for walking, fishing and picnicking, with many attractions and activities on hand. These include boats to hire, river boat trips, a modern and exciting children's play area, crazy golf, a putting green, go-kart's, a paddling pool, skateboard park, plus many amusements.
The meadows also stage several big events throughout the year. On the other side of the bridge, by the river, you will find Danters Riverside Amusement Centre with many fairground rides, the dragon roller coaster, dodgems and a large arcade.
ANKERDINE COMMON
Magnificent views across the Teme valley from the high vantage viewing point, a level open area of grassland with a picnic table and regular sightings of buzzards await your visit to Ankerdine Common.
Follow the Fox Trail, the path here becomes steep and narrow with several steps so take care. The woods are alive with birdsong and wild flowers in the spring and summer and filled with colour in the autumn.
Ankerdine Common is located off the B4197 between Knightwick and Martley, about half a mile from Knightwick.
The track to the parking area is steep and narrow, as are many of the footpaths.
